Whisperz
Android · iOS · android · ios
I don’t trust most messengers with anything I actually care about. “Encrypted in transit” still means readable on a server.

Whisperz is a shielded chat — Android and iOS — built around private meaning private. The Android side leans on Zcash-style shielding; the iOS app is the other half of the same product. It’s still a personal project, not a store listing.
The interesting constraint is the obvious one: if the server can read it, it isn’t shielded. Onboarding, notifications, “who is this person” — all the product things people expect — have to live with that. I still haven’t made those feel easy.
